Developing the Initial Sketch Model
This model was developed from the simple structure created out of six prisms. The overall organisation of the spaces was maintained, however, specific areas required by the brief have begun to be developed.
Scenes from the Developed Model
View from the lecture room, side walls will manipulate the light for example through frosted windows.
The bridge-like structure that can be converted into a gallery space or classroom area. The side 'walls' create shadows onto the floor to embody the cinematic theme.
View from a balcony area demonstrates the connection between the bridge element and the lecture hall.
Main classroom space, the theme of the decorative supportive bars from the bridge continue into the main study space, linking the cantilevered space to the ground.
Display of the overall structure, exhibiting how each element blends together. The structure will most likely be simplified to improve form but also to reduce the ground space required for the building.
Lumion Moving Elements
As part of my design, I want to incorporate structures that provide shade to interior spaces. This is an initial version of the design, a screen-type element that moves across the side of the structure. It further creates intricate shadows which is part of the concept of a cinematic environment.
